All Concerts Aired Friday at 8:00pm and Tuesday at 1pm

This month Superiorland Concerts features the Pine Mountain Music Festival. This annual summer festival is approaching its twentieth year, bringing to audiences throughout the central Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin many performances of solo, chamber and orchestral classical music concerts, operas, and a variety of other musical genres, including jazz, show music and other styles. All of this month's Superiorland Concerts programs will include past performances from the Pine Mountain Music Festival, including the festival's orchestras and the resident quartet for nearly the entire history of the festival, the Bergonzi String Quartet out of Florida.

February 5 & 9- Northern Michigan University Orchestra 2009
Listen to selections from two concerts performed by the Northern Michigan University Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Barbara Rhyneer. Among the many selections in this program is a world premiere performance of an arrangement of musical selections from the world of video games by N.M.U. student Matt Mitchell called “Shadow of the Colossus Medley”.

February 12 & 16Derek Yaple-Schobert
This young Canadian pianist delighted an audience at Northern Michigan University’s Reynolds Recital Hall in 2008 with a highly varied program of music ranging from Bach to contemporary works.

February 19 & 23- Superior Music Festival 2007
In 2007, the Superior String Alliance’s Superior Music Festival concentrated on the 250th anniversary of the birth of Mozart, and 100th anniversary of the birth of Shostakovich. A concert recorded at St. Michael Catholic Church in Marquette featured music by both of these composers, performed by the Superior Festival Orchestra under the direction of Steven Edwards.

February 26 & March 2- Keweenaw Symphony
This concert by the Copper Country’s premier orchestra featured a performance with the K.S.O. by cellist Ross Harbaugh of the Bergonzi String Quartet.
