June 26 & 30 – Nuvi Mehta’s Final Marquette Symphony Concert Outgoing Principal Conductor Nuvi Mehta goes out in grand style in his 2006 farewell concert at Kaufman Auditorium in Marquette, with the help of his father, Dady Mehta, at piano.
July
July 3 & 7 The Baroque Chamber Orchestra Hear this ensemble, assembled one year only, during the annual Pine Mountain Music Festival, and recorded in performance in Reynolds Recital Hall. Soloists include three members of the Bergonzi String Quartet, while the fourth, Scott Flavin, conducts the concert.
July 10 & 14 Dave Brubeck & the Marquette Choral Society A mid-summer treat! Revisit the Marquette Choral SocietyÕs all-Brubeck concert, recorded in the early 90s in Hedgecock Field House at Northern Michigan University, and featuring the world premiere of the cantata, 'Earth is Our Mother'.
July 17 & 21 Organist Christine Harmon Menominee native Christine Harmon returns to the U.P. to present a varied selection of works for organ during the 2009 Pine Mountain Music Festival. This performance took place at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Marquette.
July 24 & 28 Bergonzi Quartet The resident quartet of the Pine Mountain Music Festival once again performs in what has become one of the most anticipated concerts of the Pine Mountain Music Festival. Their 2009 Festival concert was recorded at Reynolds Recital Hall on the campus of Northern Michigan University.
July 31 & Aug. 4 Marquette Symphony Orchestra Pops Concert The Marquette Symphony began a new chapter in its storied history with the first concert of the 2008-09 season, under the direction of new principal conductor, Jacob Chi. This 'pops' concert features a wide variety of selections from Broadway and film scores, and features soprano Lori Hultgren.
